Sunshine is a keyboard based program for 3 1/2 – 5 year olds. The program runs from September through early June with weekly one hour classes. The children are taught in small groups, each having a participating partner (parent) to support them through the class. Sunshine students learn through a cast of “critter” friends that make musical concepts come to life in an age-appropriate way. The activities, songs, puppets, games, stories and crafts hold the attention of this age group and reinforce concepts that would otherwise seem complicated. Students in the Sunshine program are quickly encouraged to play with both hands together, and even are able to master three scales including contrary motion in their first year!
